Throughout term 2 and within the first two weeks of term 3, Year R continued to explore colour. The children made their own colour-wheels and discovered what happens when two primary colours touch and mix together. We then went on to mix secondary colours with more control within mixing palettes. The children cleaned their brushes between each colour and discovered that some colours are stronger than others and that quantities required for mixing are not always even. This was a great opportunity for the children to practise their brush/painting skills and develop their fine-motor skills.

Colour-mixing is a skill that we revisit in every year group.
