Bridge & Patrixbourne CEP School  was last inspected by Ofsted in October 2023, where it was judged that the school continues to be ‘good’ following the last inspection.

The main points were:

  • Pupils speak with pride about their school and enjoy their lessons. They are well-mannered, polite and welcoming.
  • The school has put in place an ambitious, well-structured curriculum that supports pupils to build up knowledge over time.
  • In the early years, children make a strong start to learning, developing basic skills well.
  • The school has planned a comprehensive approach to reading, with pupils becoming enthusiastic, fluent and accurate readers.
  • Pupils achieve well in most subjects, with staff knowing pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities well and anticipating their needs.
  • The curriculum supports pupils' broader development well, with a wide range of extra-curricular activities on offer.
  • Pupils are passionate advocates for equality and fairness, and take on many leadership roles in the school.
  • Behaviour is good across the school, with any issues dealt with quickly and consistently.
  • Areas for improvement include ensuring assessment is used effectively to inform future activities, and embedding strategies to help pupils remember and apply their learning.

In 2017, we were inspected under the SIAMS (Statutory Inspection of Anglican and Methodist Schools) framework and were graded as 'outstanding', a copy of the report can be found below.
