This morning, Holly Class went to the Folkestone Book Festival as their prize for being the class in Upper Key Stage Two that read the most last term! The author speaking was Catherine Johnson (notable books include 'Race to the Frozen North' and 'Freedom'), and children had the opportunity to pre-order copies of her books or buy them at the theatre. Following an interesting talk about Johnson's inspiration and career, the children then had the chance to ask her questions which hopefully enthused some budding young writers within our class. Catherine then signed copies of her books before we returned to school. Congratulations to the children of Holly Class for winning and thank you to the parents for their engagement and support with signing Reading Records each night!
