Within their art lessons this term, Year R have been weaving with paper, wool and fabric. They have each created small individual woven pieces and have also had the opportunity to weave together on a larger scale with fabric and ribbon through wooden pallets.

This fiddly weaving task has given Year R pupils the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills, eye-hand coordination and concentration. Some pupils made patterns, consolidating their learning about pattern within the classroom. The activity also gave pupils practical understanding of the words over and under and how to follow a pattern of movements and instructions.

Well done Year R.
