Welcome to Term 6 Forest School.

Year 3 learned a little bit about making soil - they added vegetables, cardboard and water and mixed it up. Some children chose to make a butterfly from string, sticks and wool whereas others used secateurs and tent pegs to make craft items from Elder branches.

Some children showed interest in tree climbing and others chose hammers and nails and wooden log slices. Linking in with their classroom learning, some children chose to build a volcano and we set it off with great excitement!!

We also found a dead shrew in our outdoor area. One way of tracking animals is their poo - some chose to look at the poo cards and make their own dough animal poo. They looked carefully as to what size and shape it is and what the animal might have eaten. Some children learned about deciduous and evergreen trees and we also made a fire in our last session and cooked marshmallows over the fire and enjoyed s'mores.

Have a fabulous summer break!
