Our History topic this term has been exploring the life and work of Florence Nightingale and learning about why she was significant. To round off our learning, the children made lamps and Crimean soldiers’ hats. They then immersed themselves in role playing being soldiers from the Crimean War  and nurses from Florence Nightingale’s team. The nurses worked as a team to set up their ‘hospital’ and tended to the wounded and sick soldiers. The children wee really engaged and worked together beautifully tending to the sick and injured. Cleaning them up, feeding them and sending them home once they were better. The children had lots of fun bringing their learning to life.
