This Term Reception have learned some bird names and which materials they use to build nests. We sang our Robin song, had a mud and spoon race, some children chose to make mud faces on trees and we introduced the spades for digging. In our second session, we thought about which animals live in the woodlands, we filled the bird feeders and played with small world animals. The weather has given us many opportunities for mud play - if you look at their faces, you can tell how enjoyable it was! Reception children also learned about the 4 seasons and we went on a spring hunt, planting seeds, finding bird's nests, watering the plants and weeding the flower beds. We also read 'Fiery Fox' to prepare ourselves for our first fire soon.
Have a lovely Easter break and enjoy nature!
