Wild Side by Seren
‘This piece of artwork is all about expressing your true self. My main inspirations were, my garden, previous mistakes on sketches, Henri Matisse’s awesome prints and, of course, my family. If you look closely, you can see hidden creatures such as a ladybird and a whale. I loved creating this because I felt free and at peace doing my favourite thing. I adore art, especially experimenting with new styles.’
Now in its sixth year, the Young Artists’ Summer Show is a free, open submission exhibition for students aged 4–19 studying in the UK. Artworks are judged by a panel of artists and arts professionals, with selected artworks displayed online and on-site at the Royal Academy of Arts.
Seren in Year 6 has entered her work for consideration. It is a lovely piece of artwork and I have my fingers crossed that it will be included in the summer show. Watch this space.
