Thank you, Creative Folkestone, for inviting us to an art workshop last week.
Fifteen Year 5 pupils were given the opportunity to work with two local artists, Tania and Emily, to make a banner celebrating our school. After some initial brain-storming of ideas, Tania and Emily used the heat press to transfer the children’s ink self-portraits on to a large piece of white cotton fabric . We then cut out shapes and text from vinyl which were also attached using the press.
The banner looks great! This is a technique that we do not have access to at school and we all had a fantastic morning.
Thank you Tania and Emily. A big thank you to Mr Taylor who drove us in the mini bus.
