At Bridge, we are very proud of our pupils’ high quality art, music, dance and performing arts. We have a strong Arts team comprising of Mr Miles and Mrs Brooks (Music), Mrs Andrews (dance), Mrs Smith and Mrs Tomsett (Art and DT). The whole school has been working towards the Artsmark Gold award which we hope to achieve in 2023. As part of our Artsmark journey, our aim is to engage and empower our pupils and allow them to express their views about how the Arts are taught at our school. Today we had our first Arts Council meeting run by Mrs Tomsett and Mrs Smith.
Within our meeting, we discussed the projects and Arts experiences that pupils have really enjoyed at Bridge. Our councillors have now been given the task of talking to class peers and gathering their opinions too. Within our next meeting we will discuss ideas for future projects and trips. As a group, they will also be planning their dream art lesson!
A big thank you to all the councillors who were able to attend today’s meeting and also to everyone who applied to be on the Arts Council. We were inundated with amazing letters from pupils wishing to join - choosing our council members was not at all easy!
