We are really proud of 10 wonderful artists who have achieved their Discovery Arts Award. A group of pupils from Year 5 and 6 have been attending a weekly art club with Mrs Smith and Mrs Tomsett. Taking inspiration from ‘twisted fairy tales’, the group have explored a range of media and techniques such as: clay sculptures; pen and ink drawings; large scale charcoal drawings; watercolour and pencil crayon illustrations and 3D cardboard construction of theatre sets.

 

We ended the club this week by sharing popcorn, doodling and presenting the children’s certificates. This is our first group of children to work towards the Discovery Arts Award; we hope to run another club in term 4.
