This week Year 3 welcomed Andrew Berry from the Education People to deliver our hotly anticipated, annual Rocks Day! The children loved getting their hands on lots of different rocks, fossils and crystals and learnt about the structure of the Earth, the formation of sedimentary, metamorphic and igneous rocks and the tectonic plates that cause volcanoes, earthquakes and tsunamis as well as much more! To end the day, the children got to make their own eruptions which caused a mixture of excitement and terror! All in all, the children (and staff) had a brilliant day and learnt loads!
