Year R have been practising their observational drawing and painting skills throughout term 5. This week, working in small groups, some of the children painted beetroot. They carefully looked at the beetroot before sketching its shape with pencil. They were introduced to primary colours and mixed their own secondary and tertiary colours before carefully applying the paint. Pupils used a small brush (for the fiddly bits) and a large brush (for painting and flicking paint).
