Today (11.11.2020) in Year 5 we have spent time learning about Remembrance Day and why we take time to reflect on this day. The children have created these lovely ‘Black-Out’ poems. They used the poems: In Flanders Fields and For the Fallen as their starting point. Next, the children chose words which they felt were most powerful and meaningful in the poems and circled them to ensure they remained visible. Finally, they sketched and coloured in a picture over the rest of the poem (related to Remembrance Day and war). The children really enjoyed creating these and really thought carefully to produce some excellent work. Well done! We hope you like them.
