This week Year One were fortunate enough to be the first year group to experience our new Forest School.
Mrs Chiaramello-Hopker has transformed a hidden away part of the school grounds into a Bridge School own Forest School. Through Forest School we aim to develop many skills including independence, communication, team work and understanding of risk-taking.
On Tuesday the children learnt the fire safety rules, collected appropriate size wood for the fire, made ‘Vaseline sandwiches’, helped build the fire, ate marshmallows and put the fire out. They also explored the site and had a great time sliding down the bank. They can’t wait to go back next week to build on their learning.

I am delighted that this activity is happening and have heard nothing but good things back from the kids. Well done to everyone who made this happen and “thank you”.
