This week, Jackson from As Creatives delivered a Space themed workshop to both Year 5 classes. Through a range of drama-based activities the children learnt all about the planets which make up our solar system. We then focused on Earth and its orbit around the sun, as well as the moon's relationship with Earth. We learnt how this impacts night and day as well as the tides in our waters. Throughout the day, the children were able to ask lots of fantastic questions and learnt a mass of scientific information. Following this, we created posters about our learning and will continue to explore Space over the next few weeks, in particular the timeline of Space Travel, linked to our English topic of Hidden Figures.
