Mandarin Trip

On 29th September, some children from each of the Year 6 classes went on a Mandarin trip at Simon Langton Boys School. As soon as we arrived, we were excited! First, we met the school’s Mandarin teacher, who took us in the big drama studio, where we met another school. The first activity was led by a Kung Fu group who showed us and taught us some of the basics skills. The kung fu was an amazing thing to try and we would love to do it again. After that, we were invited to the school’s assembly in the hall. We watched an excellent show. The group of adults that had taught us some kung fu carried out a demonstration showing some more advanced skills. They were terrific! Next, we saw some Year 10s and Year 11s perform a show (using fans) where there was dancing and singing – the mandarin teacher joined in too! Sadly, it was then time to leave. Our favourite part of the day was learning kung fu because it was fun and energetic, even though it hurt our legs! It was a great experience and fun was had by all.
