This week, within his music lesson, Mr Miles worked with 3SA to interpret their artwork (graphic scores) into music. Graphic notation (or graphic score) is the representation of music using visual symbols. Pupils worked in groups and used percussion instruments to interpret a section of each of the compositions. Please see our gallery below:

Meanwhile, I worked with 3HA to compose their graphic scores. Pupils composed a piece of music using colour, shapes, and line. 3SA will perform their compositions next week with Mr Miles.

We are also collaborating with CoMA in Manchester (Contemporary Music for All) who will be choosing some of the children’s compositions to interpret themselves. Thank you, CoMA, we are looking forward to hearing them!
