3SA made their Egyptian necklaces this week in DT with Mrs Amelia and Mrs Holdaway. The necklaces are inspired by Ancient Egypt and designed for a 'summer fashion collection.' They had to be appealing to their target customers; Egyptian themed; robust and functional; constructed to a high standard and weaving had to be used within the design.
Within previous lessons, year 3 pupils explored some textile techniques – weaving, tassel and paper bead making. Using inspiration from the jewellery of Tutankhamun’s tomb, they designed their necklaces and considered the construction of their product. Once made, pupils evaluated their final product and then performed a fashion show within their classroom.
Mrs. Amelia, Mrs Holdaway and I will certainly be dashing to the shops to buy one this summer! Available in all good shops.
