On Wednesday Year 1 went on a Geography field trip around the woods in the village. As we walked, we looked for signs of rural life. We saw many signs including crops, woodlands, sheep, fields, styles and even an orchard. We also discussed how urban places would look very different and what we might see if we went to places like Canterbury and London.

During the walk we also looked at signs of Autumn as part of our Science learning. We had fun collecting a variety of natural objects such as leaves, rose hips, conkers and sticks. We took them back to class in order to create some wonderful artwork linked to our English story ‘Where the wild things are’ (please see other Year 1 blog to see the outcome of our creations).
