The children were delighted to choose their own class pets this week. Each child has been given a cuddly toy to look after (which they will eventually bring home). The aim of this project is to inspire the children to be more focused, more creative and more motivated to write in child-initiated time. They have got off to a great start and we have already had homes being built, drawings with labels, posters, lists of things they need to look after their pets and stories being told and written. And the children have loved it!

This is fab & such a nice way for the children to practise their writing! Oliver tells us all about his pet & says he’s even named it after Daddy (haha!) He was very proud of the sledge he made for his pet & he can’t wait to bring it home ????

Such a lovely idea! We keep hearing about Evie's... a Beagle now morphed into a koala. Looking forward to seeing the journals :)

Henry is loving having a school pet and often tells me about it on the way home.
