Our Science this term has been all about ‘changing materials.’ We have investigated how some changes such as freezing ice are reversible and some changes are irreversible like boiling an egg. Today we investigated chemical reactions. We filled a lemonade bottle with yeast, sugar and measured warm water. Then we waited and watched how the balloons filled up quickly with carbon dioxide. We learnt that there is a chemical reaction between the three ingredients and this is what causes bread to rise! This links to our D.T project which is making bread. We really enjoyed the lesson and can’t wait to make bread this week!
