Welcome back to the woods Year 4.

We had a member from Forestry England join our session (they give us permission to use the woodlands). She brought a tawny owl feather with her and 2 different types of deer antlers and told us a little bit about the forest and the animals.

We listened to the sounds around us, played a 'guess the woodland animal' game, found interesting natural items and the children completed a ' who can build a tall freestanding tower' challenge. Some of the children we so engrossed, this took them the whole session.

Other children were exploring the area and found centipedes, snail shells. fungus, woodlice, badger holes, worms and different plants.

It is great to see how comfortable in the natural environment they are now.
