At Bridge & Patrixbourne CE Primary School, we are proud to be an educationally inclusive maintained primary school serving our vibrant village community near Canterbury. We believe every pupil is unique, with individual abilities and learning journeys. Rooted in our Christian vision inspired by Jesus’ words, “I am the vine, you are the branches” (John 15:5), we nurture every pupil to flourish within the love of God, growing together with compassion, trust, and generosity.
Our Commitment to Inclusion and Special Educational Needs (SEN)
We are dedicated to ensuring that all pupils, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), receive the support and opportunities they need to thrive. Our approach is shaped by our core values of Service, Forgiveness, Trust, Generosity, and Compassion, which guide how we support every child to become the best version of themselves.
- Individualised Support: Pupils identified with SEN have tailored targets recorded on class provision maps. These targets are reviewed three times a year to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
- Collaborative Approach: We actively involve parents and carers throughout the process, ensuring that you are fully consulted and engaged at every stage of your child’s learning and development.
- Expertise & Leadership: Our Inclusion Leader, Charlotte McLean is part of our Senior Leadership Team. She works closely with families, staff, and external agencies to provide the best possible support for pupils. You can contact her or arrange an appointment anytime via the school office or by emailing charlotte.mclean@bridge.kent.sch.uk.

Parent and Carer Partnership
We value close partnership with families and encourage early conversations about any additional needs or concerns. With parents, we have co-written a Parent and Carers Useful Guide to SEN/D provision at Bridge & Patrixbourne which you can read below. Copies can also be obtained from the school office.
Information about applying for a school place is available on our Admissions page, and details about transition into Reception can be found on Starting Primary School.
You may also wish to explore our Curriculum and Attendance & Punctuality pages. If you would like to discuss your child’s needs, please Contact Us - our Inclusion Leader, Charlotte McLean, is always happy to support and guide families.
Accessibility and Equality
We are committed to creating an environment where every member of our community is valued equally. Our school champions the principles of the Equality Act (2010) and the Public Sector Equality Duty to promote fairness and tackle discrimination. We aim to remove barriers and provide an accessible learning environment for all pupils, including those with disabilities as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act (2005).
Our Accessibility & Disability Plan is available in the Policies section of our website for further details.
For further information or to speak with our Inclusion Leader, please contact the school office or email charlotte.mclean@bridge.kent.sch.uk. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.
