Welcome to Year 6
Year 6 is a very special and memorable year for our pupils. As the oldest children in the school, they enjoy privileges such as sitting on the benches during Collective Worship (this is more exciting than you'd think!) and taking on key leadership roles, including becoming House Captains allowing them to act as role models for younger pupils.
At the start of the year, many of our pupils will take the Kent Test, and later in the year they will sit their end of Key Stage 2 SATs. We support the children through these important milestones, helping them to approach each challenge with confidence and a positive mindset.
One of the highlights of the year is our residential trip to PGL, where children build independence, teamwork, and confidence while taking part in a wide range of adventurous activities.
Towards the end of the year, pupils will work together to put on an end-of-year production – this year it will be We Will Rock You – showcasing their creativity, teamwork, and talent.
As the year progresses, we also begin preparing children for the next step in their education. This includes opportunities such as Bikeability training and first aid workshops, ensuring they leave Bridge Primary not only with strong academic foundations but also with valuable life skills.
Year 6 is a year of challenge, opportunity, and celebration – the perfect way to round off each child’s primary school journey.
