In the lead up to Remembrance Sunday, Year 5 have been learning about the history of the poppy and its symbolism. The children learnt that there are different coloured poppies for different groups that we should remember for their part to play in keeping us safe during wartimes. The children then had the chance to create their own poppy with an individual meaning. Some examples included: green for the environment, blue for water and yellow for signs of a brighter future. We then delivered the poppies to Bridge Church for them to display during their services.
