Year R use PVA glue!
Over the last two weeks, children in Year R have been given the choice of making either a magic wand or an ice lolly from a range of art materials. Some attempted to draw out shapes using a stencil but all cut out their own star or lolly from card. They attached a lolly pop stick to the card with sticky tape and secured a pipe cleaner around the stick by bending and twisting the wire. They cut their own foam shapes and worked with small sequins when decorating their work using PVA glue (encouraged to use a small about of glue and to be patient while their work dried). Who needs a Pritt-stick?
Throughout the lesson, all children explored new media and tools while practising their fine motor skills. Joining materials continues throughout term 3.
