Reception learned all about caterpillars and butterflies in class - we tied our learning into that at Forest School. We were looking for and finding caterpillar holes in leaves, we acted out the Life cycles and planted seeds in flower pots. 2 weeks later, the seedlings had grown and the children planted the sunflowers, beans and squashes in the raised beds.
It was coronation week at Forest School - nature crowns were made, red white blue paintings with conkers were on offer as well as wood slices with palm drills and string and queen silhouettes in order to look closely at an area.
The last week saw our first fire which was very exciting. The children had shown good understanding of the rules and we toasted marshmallows and ate s'mores! Yum.
