While we’ve been away, strange forms have been secretly roaming the school!
Pupils in year 5 have created sculptures inspired by the book ‘The Lost Thing’, which they studied within their English lessons. In their art lessons, pupils developed their observational drawing skills by drawing from stones and shells in graphite and colour pencil. They learnt about line, tone, shading, form and complementary colours.
Year 5 explored the work of sculptors Henry Moore, Barbara Hepworth and Peter Randall-Page; designed their own sculptures in their sketchbooks using mixed-media; made their own ‘Lost Thing’ sculptures in clay and skilfully painted them using complementary colours.
Some of the sculptures have gone walkabouts!
