On Tuesday 11th November, ten very excited Year 2 pupils laced up their trainers and headed off to the huge sports hall at Canterbury Academy for this year’s Infant Agility event. If enthusiasm were an Olympic sport, they’d have brought home the gold before they even got off the minibus.

The children rotated around seven action-packed stations: the Bouncer, Stepper, Thrower, Jumper, Bowler, Launcher and Skipper. Each activity tested different skills—speed, balance, strength, and most importantly, the ability to keep smiling even when your legs start to wobble like jelly.

There were plenty of highlights: one child proudly announced, “My favourite activity was the Javelins. We had to throw them as far as we could.”. Another added, “My favourite activity was the Bouncer. We had to jump over a triangle block for 20 seconds.” (which may not sound long… until you try bouncing like a kangaroo with something to prove!)

The whole group gave their all, cheered each other on, and represented the school brilliantly. Most importantly, they all agreed: “We had a great time!”

A big thank you to Mr Taylor for driving the team and to Mrs Langsdon for leading the trip. The children returned tired, happy, and already asking when they can go again—which is always the sign of a successful sporting adventure!
