Welcome to Covert Woods Year 4.
The bluebells were out as were the warmer temperatures. We started by listening to the birds and the sounds around us, followed by a blindfold game where the children had to lead each other to a tree and later on recognise it by using their senses.
We focused on the positive and we talked about what makes us happy (inside or outside of school).
Next was a mysterious story about Bigfoot and the children were eagerly building shelters and homes, including moss carpets, walls, food areas and seats. Some worked independently whereas others worked as a team, respecting the rules. Some of us found natural items that we explored, such as soft rotten wood with visible beetle holes, old beech nuts or chestnut shells. Lots of fun had by all - we shall be back.
