I would like to nominate myself, William Hotham, to serve as a Parent Governor for Bridge and Patrixbourne Primary School and contribute to the success of our school community. As a parent of a child in Reception, I am deeply invested in ensuring the best possible educational experience for all students. My professional background as a Barrister and now a regulator and supervisor of wholesale banks at the Financial Conduct Authority provides me with valuable skills directly applicable to the Governing Board's work. Specifically, I offer expertise in analytical and evaluative skills, which are crucial for sound school governance. I am also skilled in clear communication and am committed to rigorous, evidence-based oversight. I believe my contribution to the Governing Board would be to bring a clear, constructively critical parent perspective to policy discussions, helping to ensure that the school’s strategy is impactful, well-communicated, and focused on student well-being and academic progress. I am keen to support the Headteacher in maintaining high standards and to work collaboratively with other Governors to help the school meet its strategic goals. I am available, enthusiastic, and ready to dedicate the necessary time and energy to this vital role. Thank you for considering my nomination.
My name is Liz Newington, and I am seeking your support in standing for election as a School Governor at Albert’s School. As a SENCo, I bring over three decades of experience in education, with a particular focus on inclusion, special educational needs, and supporting children to achieve their full potential. I am passionate about creating learning environments where every child feels valued, supported, and inspired. My professional background has given me a strong understanding of educational policy, safeguarding, and the importance of collaborative leadership. I work closely with schools across the region to develop inclusive strategies, and I would be honoured to bring this expertise to Albert’s School. As a Governor, I would be committed to working in partnership with staff, families, and the wider community to ensure that Albert’s continues to be a place of excellence, opportunity, and wellbeing for all pupils. I believe in listening carefully, asking thoughtful questions, and supporting school leaders to make informed, strategic decisions that benefit every child. As a church school, I want to support the unique opportunity to nurture children’s spiritual development alongside their academic growth. I value the Christian ethos that underpins the school’s vision and would support its continued integration into daily life and decision-making. I care deeply about the future of our children, and the role schools play in shaping confident, compassionate, and capable young people. If elected, I will bring dedication, integrity, and a strong sense of purpose to the role. Thank you for considering my nomination.
