Lots of (wet) fun was had last term in Forest School.

Children solved some nature riddles and created their own, we boiled water in the Kelly Kettle and drank hot squash on cold days, watched the ice melt in the sunshine and talked about why we can see our breath on some days.

The children learned how to use square lashings with rope or string in order to tie two sticks together and they came up with fabulous creations like stars, pyramids, mobiles and frames.

We looked at bird names, learned some facts (Senna was my bird expert helper as she attends a falconry club) and created natural orange bird feeders. Year 5 worked hard to bring up lots of woodchip in the wheelbarrows to Forest School to make our area a little less muddy!

For our cooking session, we made stickbread with a choice of herbs/flavours, where lots patients was needed. They had hammock fun, created a tree cafe, made dens, used tools for small furniture and most of all - they made the most of the rain and created a water slide down the mound!! So much (muddy) fun!
