Welcome to Forest School Year R  -even if it was the wettest January on record (I called the Forest School area our mini Glastonbury in rain!).

We experienced snow, rain, mud, a little bit of sunshine and most of all lots of fun. Children learned about our Forest School rules that we repeat every week:

Walk around the fire circle

No pick, no lick, be careful with a stick

If it's taller than you, you need you or drag it behind you (we are talking about sticks)

Discover nature and have fun

Respect animals, plants and people

The children found sticks and sorted them by size, they drank hot squash on cold days, we read 'Little red riding hood', explored the ladder, went on bug hunts and explored the hammock.

Children learned some of the bird names, made binoculars and bird feeders, played a worm game where they had to find lots of pretend worms and learned about camouflaging. Children also learned some of the names of the mini beasts in our area.

They have settled in really well in Forest School - let's see what the next term brings!
