We were delighted to welcome Vicky Kirk into school today to run a recycled textiles workshop for a group of Year 3 students. Vicky is a director of Studio Partington (an award-winning London architect practice) and studied textiles at university.

The theme was ‘recycling’ and the children used collected, recycled materials to create individual textile pieces – this included weaving, construction and sewing. This was a collaborative project; as the children completed their individual pieces of textiles, they worked with Vicky to combine them and create an outfit for a mannequin.

We had a fun and creative morning and the mannequin looks fabulous in its new outfit. It is now displayed in the foyer of our school office, please do come in and have a look!

Well done Alexi, Raef, Millie, Rory, Farron, Taylor, Jack, Jack, Holly and Vinelysia. A massive thank you to Vicky! An excellent morning!
