Welcome back to Covert Woods Year 5.
We listened to the sounds around us, played a woodland animal game where children used their bodies to create the creatures and we had Jadie from Forestry England visiting again. She told us a little about the woodlands and shared antlers, a Harvest mouse nest and feathers from a variety of birds. Children created animals with natural materials and explored the woods. Some found beetles in old rotten logs, others built shelters and we found some jelly ear mushrooms. The children were very involved and could have easily stayed for longer in the forest.
