On Tuesday 10th February, a group of Year 5 pupils took part in an exciting drama and dance workshop alongside children from two other local schools. The day was packed with creativity, teamwork and plenty of energy.

The workshop began with a fun drama game where pupils used everyday objects, such as a pen or ruler, to act out something completely different. This challenged their imagination and encouraged quick thinking.

Pupils then learned a dance routine to the song I’m a Believer from Shrek. Working in mixed-school groups, they were given the opportunity to choreograph some of their own moves, building confidence and collaboration skills.

Later in the session, the children explored character acting inspired by well-known fairy tales. Using picture prompts such as Little Red Riding Hood, Pinocchio and Snow White, they practised walking, talking and performing as different characters before re-enacting short scenes.

The workshop finished with a final performance of their dance routine, bringing the day to an energetic close. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would like to thank Laura, Mrs Smith and Mrs Loughlin for organising and running such an engaging event.
