On Thursday 16th March a group of Year 4s were lucky enough to go to The Duke of York’s Royal Military School, Near Dover to take part in an Art and craft workshop. We were met by Lily, a student who is completing her Gold Art Award and Head of Art Mrs Keeler. We were taken to their large, light and airy art room and worked on 4 different stations to create our own paper to make a collage bird. We made marks with felt pen, painted with natural materials, collaged with layers of tissue and made rubbings of different leaves and then cut out the shapes to make a bird. They also treated us to some delicious fruit and a yummy cookie. We had a lovely time and it was very interesting to make another link with a new school.
