We are delighted to celebrate Holly, who has been named a winner in the Young Environmentalist of the Year competition.

Sponsored by The Isle of Thanet Sunrise Rotary Club, Monkton Nature Reserve, Thanet Earth and Get Wild, the competition challenged children to explore the theme Happiness in Nature. Entrants were asked to create a project demonstrating how wildlife and people can survive and thrive together.

Holly's inspiring entry, titled Ruby Rubbish, featured a robot made entirely from non-recyclable waste materials. Alongside her model, Holly explained how Ruby could help protect wildlife by collecting litter from parks, beaches and streets, while encouraging people to think more carefully about the impact of pollution on the environment.

Holly attended the awards ceremony at Monkton Nature Reserve on 23rd May, where she proudly collected her award alongside three other winners. The award was presented by Sir Roger Gale and Holly's project was also selected to progress to the national competition. In recognition of this achievement, she received an additional certificate.

Holly has a genuine passion for caring for the environment and worked incredibly hard on her project. Her creativity, thoughtfulness and commitment to making a positive difference for wildlife are a wonderful example to others.

Everyone at Bridge is extremely proud of Holly and this fantastic achievement. We wish her the very best of luck in the national competition and look forward to hearing more about her environmental work in the future.
