We are delighted to invite parents and carers of our Reception children to our Maths Workshop.
This engaging session will introduce you to the way mathematics is taught in Reception and explain how children develop a secure understanding of number, shape, pattern and measure through practical, hands-on learning experiences.
You'll discover how we encourage children to explore mathematical concepts through play, problem solving and everyday activities, helping them to develop confidence as mathematicians from the very beginning of their school journey.
We'll also share simple ideas and practical activities that you can use at home to reinforce your child's learning. Whether you're counting objects, spotting patterns, comparing quantities or talking about shapes, there are many enjoyable ways to develop mathematical thinking as part of everyday family life.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions, explore some of the resources we use in school and find out how you can support your child's mathematical development throughout the Reception year.
We look forward to welcoming you and working in partnership to build strong mathematical foundations for every child.
