There were smiles all round as our Year 5 and 6 Bat and Trap Club took on members of staff in the fourth annual Bridge Bat and Trap Challenge.
Having lost two of the previous three matches, the children were eager to put their training into practice and show how much they had improved. Over recent weeks, club members have worked hard to develop their batting, bowling and fielding skills, and their determination was clear from the very first ball.
The match was played in great spirits, with plenty of friendly competition between the children and staff. Both teams produced some excellent moments, but it was the children who came out on top with a superb 20-14 victory.
The result was a fitting reward for their commitment, teamwork and perseverance throughout the term. It was fantastic to see the confidence the children have developed through the club, as well as the sportsmanship shown by everyone involved.
Congratulations to all of our Year 5 and 6 players on a thoroughly deserved win. We suspect the staff team will be spending the next year preparing for a chance to reclaim the trophy!
